In January of this year, children from UNIVERSITAS-classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 joined children from our sister school in Rerik for a trip to London.
After a long bus journey we arrived in London on Monday evening, when we were picked up in Morden, South London by our guest families and taken home to eat.
On Tuesday morning we met and took the tube to tower hill were we got on the bus for a tour of all the important sights in London. The bus left us in Camden were we had a lot of time to look around the famous Camden market. After that we took the tube back to Morden to meet our guest families again.
Wednesday morning we travelled to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guards, then we walked down to the Thames and took a boat tour to Greenwich. We visited the Royal Observatory and had great views of the whole city. We travelled back to Morden with the Docklands Light Railway and the Tube.
Thursday morning saw us divide into four groups to visit The National Gallery, The British Museum, The Tate Modern and The natural History Museum. We met together at Convent Garden and had a list of activities to do such as visit Hamleys, The London Dungeon, Harrods, Chinatown, watch the street performers, Waterstones or wander around the shops. Everybody was free to eat where they wished as we were returning later to the guest families and missed dinner.
On Friday morning we went to the Tower of London, we were there for two hours, one hour of which was a guided tour. After the tour we took the tube back to Morden and met our bus for the return journey back to Germany.
